The Dead Daisies 2020 - A Whole New Level

The Dead Daisies 2020 - A Whole New Level

The Dead Daises 2020

(about 2 min. read)

After four insanely creative and Rock 'N Roll fueled years between 2015 and 2019 The Dead Daisies happened to go through a deep change. There is no doubt that everyone who likes Classic Rock or Hard Rock got into touch with their music in the past years and let me tell you that the live shows they delivered throughout the years were more than incredible.

Delivering Classic Hard Rock with an epic modern sound and feel they kept the old musical tradition, but on the top of those roots they built up something so tight, hard, heavy, melodic and meaningful both lyrically and musically that only few exceptional musicians could ever done.

Between those years (2015-2019) they enjoyed the three piece creative force of John Corabi as lead vocalist, Doug Aldrich as lead guitar player and Marco Mendoza as bass player and handling the tasks of backing vocals. This stable force gave the members of the band a solid ground for constant development and going towards the heavier stuffs record by record.

In 2019 big changes happened. John Corabi and Marco Mendoza is no longer in the band's line-up. The news came as a hug surprise that is for sure, but when the world found out that Glenn Hughes joined the band on lead vocals and bass I guess the shock was even bigger in like a very positive way.

Since then the new line-up released two insanely great fresh official music videos, a lyrics video and they had a great work with what they named as Lockdown Sessions. Below you find all the videos being so important right now for The Dead Daisies and definitely do not forget about pre-ordering their brand new record entitled Holy Ground, that is due to be released on January 22 2021.

AIRBOURNE BONESHAKER ALBUM REVIEW

Here comes the right time to bang your head since the new AIRBOURNE album entitled 'BONESHAKER' brings back the feeling of the BON SCOTT era of one the greatest rock bands ever yeeeahhh, that's AC/DC '70s era! ;)

Thank God, no matter what I'm going to write down here, headbangers around the world will surely bang their heads to the kick-ass new AIRBOURNE album entitled 'BONESHAKER'. Don't get me wrong I love these hard kickin' sweet old sounding drums & riffs which plays mostly between middle and a bit of a fast tempo throughout the record. It's a record with a different kinda vibe than Black Dog Barking released in 2013 or Breakin' Outta Hell released in 2016. OK, you can't always do the same, you grow, evolve and think different with time, that's right!

The truth is that the whole album has a very special pure 70's AC/DC feeling with AIRBOURNE madness. To be more precise I guess the guys gathered as many sweet sounding old amps like Marshall Plexi as they just could. Turned the gain knob just to the right amount for the songs and kickin' it like Rock 'N Roll once was shakin' up the whole world and hopefully will do it again in 2019 too!

I do advise you to do not listen to any other format than Vinyl or the CD itself. Simply the situation is that I as somebody in love with the sweet sound of the old amps like Marshall Plexi really hears the difference between the different formats like vinly, cd or mp3 and the latter simply just does not give back to feeling of those sweet old amps like the Marshall Plexi, in fact the difference is heaven and hell between the CD and the MP3 format. If choosing digital anyway you can head to HDTRACKS.com and get AIRBOURNE 'Boneshaker' in HQ high quality FLAC format. Be sure to check out your device regarding kHz and bit parameters.

To sum it up AIRBOURNE BONESHAKER is a  9/10 album for me with the song entitled 'Switchblade Angel' as a favorite if I could only pick one song. I personally miss a little bit of more AIRBOUNE uniqueness, but hey, it's only Rock 'N Roll anyway, so let's listen and bang our head on the AIRBOURNE TOUR 2019/2020!

Paul Gilbert Behold Electric Guitar Album Review

Paul Gilbert is back with an insanely sweet, cool, totally unique sounding musical fusion played and recorded at the highest level Behold Electric Guitar.

Making solo records since 1998, being world famous with the band called Mr. Big, having a musical project like Racer X, countless special guest appearance with highly anticipated artist both on records and live, doing guitar instructional videos with invaluable knowledge share, Paul Gilbert is one of the hardest working guys in the music industry, if not the most hard working. His talent is beyond words.
I do believe with his intangible musical talent, techniques and capabilities Paul Gilbert will never get bored surprising us real true music listeners with something totally new and fresh like he did with his latest solo record Behold Electric Guitar again.

On Behold Electric Guitar mixes musical genres and styles like Blues, Rock, Jazz, Fusion, Funky and beyond just as smooth as a bird flies. Mixing up and using the mentioned musical root styles results in a very unique Paul Gilbert feeling, mood with real sweet fulfillment for the true music listener throughout the album.

Overall I do believe he's a magician who happens to play the electric guitar like no other person on this planet. He knows all the tricks, mastered all the scales, can feel an inspiration from anything really that touches, motivates or moves him even just a little bit and turns that tiny, little things to sweet or hard, touching deep inside instrumental music. When touching the wah-wah guitar pedal, that's I guess my favorite special thing about this album, because the way as Paul Gilbert uses it gives another unbelievable new dimension and also layer of flowing with the music deeper, deeper and beyond any other kind of feeling.

Yes, as you already see I happen not to go song by song as usual in my reviews, rather just feel all the energy coming from the record and I feel like I totally united with the universe of music once again. Well, maybe not just the universe of music, but the all the stars, the sweet happiness and sadness throughout this beautiful universe of ours. Thank you Paul Gilbert for this release of greatness for the music listeners again in 2019! 10/10 ---- can we go any higher with points? :)
